Congratulations to Team SmartPak Rider and this week’s What the Pro’s Use interviewee, Louise Serio and Castlerock (owned by Bryan Baldwin)! Louise and Castlerock took Wellington by storm winning the $50,000 Chronicle of the Horse/USHJA International Hunter Derby at the 2010 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival. This was Louise’s first Derby win and also her highest score ever earned with the judges awarding her a 99 after the second round.
Louise began training out of Derbydown in 1975 and consistently trains and rides champions in every division at the most prestigious shows on the East Coast as well as traveling the country to judge at those top shows in which she is not competing. Some champions include Gray Slipper, Dream Date, Red Panda, LaFayette and Hat Trick. Louise was instrumental in founding the American Hunter-Jumper foundation. The AHJF is a non-profit, member-supported organization whose mission is to develop and promote the equestrian sport of show hunter-and-jumper competition.
