A group of SmartPakers participated in the Cause 4 Paws Dog Walk and 5K Run at Marina Bay in Quincy, MA to benefit the Quincy Animal Shelter. We were greeted with a lot of wind and some of the smaller dogs were definitely chilly (though some were appropriately dressed for the cold)! Despite the cool weather, there was a great turnout of dogs of all different breeds, and plenty of fun for dogs and their humans, including an agility course and a raffle with lots of great prizes (including two SmartPak gift certificates!).
We were well represented by our runners Sarah, Bridget and Veronica and her dog Merlin. The course started at Marina Bay and took the runners along the ocean line, through a neighborhood and back, with a hill and a very strong headwind to contend with!
Our walkers included Renee and her Min Pin named Stella (she dressed in layers and wore a very cute pink jacket with a hood); Meghan and her Pitbull/Lab mix, Boone (an expert at the Agility Course); Brett and her Yorkshire Terrier, Jack, and his sister, a very tiny Tea Cup Yorkshire Terrier named Zoey (weighing in at just 3 lbs, though on that day, maybe a little more with all the coats she had on!); and Liz and her English Bulldog Daisy.
We all had tons of fun and enjoyed the chance to get out, stretch our legs, meet some new friends and support a great cause!
