Meet Okie Dun Did It (aka Tango)
Assistant Trainer Melanie Petroll and Tango kicking up some dust at the National Reining Breeders Classic
Name: Okie Dun Did It (“Tango”)
Breed: Quarter Horse
Owners: The McQuay Family
With over $55,000 in lifetime earnings, Okie Dun Did It (aka ‘Tango’) has had a very successful reining career with some of the top riders in the sport. Shown by Mandy McCutcheon and Monica Hicks as an aged events horse, Tango made the finals in several major NHRA events. In 2002, Tim McQuay rode the six year old in the USET Nation’s Cup, where the pair contributed to a team Gold Medal. After a few years and many more wins with pro rider Louise Serio and her daughter-in-law Allison, at fourteen Tango is back with the McQuay’s. Ridden by Tim’s grandson, Cade, assistant trainer Melanie Petroll, as well as Lars Mortenson, Tango continues his winning tradition. When it comes to Tango’s care, team McQuay doesn’t compromise. SmartFlex Senior provides glucosamine, MSM and HA to support his hard-working joints, along with prebiotics and probiotics to maintain healthy digestion, helping keep Tango in championship form.
