Shortly after purchasing my young horse, Sovereign, he was diagnosed with a rare type of OCD that required surgery. During the surgery, the vet noticed that as well as the OCD, Sovereign also had ligament damage. The prognosis was bleak. It was very possible that his dressage career had ended before it had even begun. Post-surgery, Sovereign was put on stall rest and a very costly joint supplement regimen.
