Larger than Life Store Visitors

The store had some rather “large” visitors this past Sunday afternoon. Our first visitor was “Burton”, a three year old Leonberger who came in with his owner Pamela. The Leonberger is one of the oldest working breeds that originated in Germany. Burton weighs in at a svelt 150 pounds (he weighs more than the average store associate). Burton’s registered name is Corleone Joyful Burton, CGC and he works alongside his owner as a therapy dog at the West Roxbury VA Hospital. He also speaks two languages, and responds to commands in both English and French.

Shortly after Burton and his owner left the store we were greeted by “Zeus” and his owner. Zeus is a Great Dane who stood at about 10 hands! Zeus was a rescue (his current owner is his 4th), but his biggest claim to fame is that he starred in a Target commercial. Both dogs were bigger than “Marty” our store mascot. Needless to say – we ran out of sample dog cookies that afternoon!

As always, we love our customers – human, equine and canine alike.
