Marketing Manager – Product Marketing

At SmartPak, the Marketing Manager, Product kicks ass and takes name as part of the Brand & Customer Experience Marketing team. In this role, you’re responsible for helping riders discover tried & true best-sellers, the latest and greatest new supplements & gear, and the steals and deals they’ll only find at SmartPak.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for using all marketing channels to execute and test campaigns and offers to launch new products, promote new offers on existing products, and ensure our product information is a cut above everyone else. You’ll do this by developing close working relationships with just about every team in the company, notably including Customer Care, eComm Channels, Merchandising, and Creative. Through these partnerships and your own unrelenting desire to do great work every single day, you’ll get to work hard, have fun, and help us change the world, four hooves at a time.

What you’ll do (big-picture responsibilities):

  • Get riders and SmartPakers excited about new products, by executing and evolving our new product launch processes for all new private label products and high-priority 3rd party products, across all product categories
  • Get riders and SmartPakers excited about the latest deals, by executing and evolving our marketing launch processes for all new offers/deals on existing product offering, including private label and 3rd party, across all categories
  • Work our winners and help the stragglers by partnering with Data Marketing, eComm Channels, eComm Product, and Merchandising teams to monitor top- and bottom-performing pages, identifying opportunities to improve product presentation
  • Help paint the bigger picture by contributing to SmartPak’s overall Marketing Sales & Calendar planning
  • Make us smarter tomorrow by staying current with retail and ecommerce marketing trends, bringing us new ideas to delight and engage our prospects and customers

How you’ll do it (skills):

  • Ability to speak your mind and speak for your customers without running over your teammates
  • A solid mix of confidence and humility – be proud of your work, but still able to accept rounds of feedback without a bruised ego
  • Impeccable time- and project-management skills with the ability to self-manage and work with little direction
  • A “get it done” attitude and work ethic with a willingness to work on a wide range of projects
  • Strategic thinking that unites business priorities with creativity
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and eagerness to learn more

How you’ve done it before (experience + qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA in Marketing, Communications, or Business preferred
  • Professional experience required
    • CPG, ecommerce, direct-to-consumer or B2C preferred
    • Backgrounds in merchandising, customer service, and retail are also favorably considered
  • Horse experience will give you a leg up
  • Practice herding cats will help you succeed in our mad, mad world
