Re bridle fit: We just ordered a new bridle for our TW/SSH gelding, who has a fine big carriage-horse head. The bridle will fit, although barely, if we punch one more hole in each cheekpiece, it’s fine. But the throatlatch is at least 5″ too short. I’ve looked everywhere online for larger fine bridles (not those 1″ wide single-layer chrome-tanned leather ones), not much luck. And, it has to be black! Not easy to find. So where can I buy a very long black throatlatch?
SmartPak makes a top quality bridle – just wish you made one in a Quarter Horse size, or the option to customize a bridle with different sized cheek pieces, and headbands, so that it would fit my guy’s lovely head (broad forehead and shorter face).
These education videos are the types of things that I wish that I had when I started working with horses way back when.
This was such a helpful video- it made me realize that my bridle was not fitting properly! Thanks SmartPak!
You’re so welcome, Hilary! Glad that you enjoyed it. Let us know if you need any help finding a better-fitting bridle for your horse 🙂
We are SO happy we could help Hilary!
