Sunset Hill Farm, Redding, CT
Submitted by Anne Vogel, Marketing Manager and Barn Mom
My name is Anne Vogel and my daughter rides and boards with Sunset Hill Farm. I myself am their Marketing Manager, planning their clinics and local advertising. Through the past year, this farm has taught all of us so much! New England gets the most ridiculous storms, and of course, our farm in Redding always seems to get hit the hardest. The only real damage has been that the beautiful weeping willow fell on the indoor, but luckily didn’t cause any damage. Anyway, we have all learned to use our resources- due to power outages, we have all taken our turns on the crazy icy and snowy roads to deliver gallons of water for the horses.
Sunset Hill Farm has been in operation for about 25 years, starting and staying in the hunter/ jumper field. Donna Pace, their head trainer, has been with them from the start. The regular lesson trainer has been here for about 5 years now. Our barn should receive the coveted Barn of the Month award because it truly is Redding’s best kept secret. The owners have never marketed before and now we are taking the opportunity to get the word out!
Many horses at Sunset Hill use SmartPaks. It is ever-so-convenient as we have many old horses, as well as very active horses, that require many supplements/vitamins. The owners are always improving the barn, which means that any time-saving devices are a blessing! SmartPaks really are a life saver.
