My name is Morgan, and I’m an 8-year-old yellow lab/corgi mix. I have been coming to work at SmartPak for about 5 years. I’m not sure what my human does here aside from punch buttons and stare at a computer screen all day, but phrases like “spreadsheet,” “numbers,” and “budget” get thrown around a lot, whatever those mean.
I know what my job is, though, and I do it well. For one, it’s important that I greet everyone who walks by our desk with a wagging tail. I also make it a point to lie underneath my mom’s feet so she can use me as a foot rest. But my most important job of all is to get rid of all the rawhide bones that keep appearing in my cube. It’s not very professional to have bones lying around, so I eat them as quickly as possible to maintain order around here.
My typical day goes something like this:
I ride shotgun in the car with my mom on the way to work. Once we arrive at the SmartPak office in Plymouth, I say hello to all my friends.
Next I take a nap under the desk until mid-morning, when my human and I usually go outside.
Once I return from outside, it’s time for business: chewing bones and allowing passing humans to pet me. I sometimes get treats from these people, and I am gracious enough to eat them, out of politeness, of course.
At lunchtime, my mom usually takes me for a long walk around the industrial park, where we often run into other SmartPak dogs and people.
After lunch, I usually sleep for the rest of the day. All of that work is exhausting! My mom and I usually leave the office in the evening and from there we go to the barn to see my big sister who is, oddly enough, a horse.
Life around here is pretty fun. At Halloween my mom and I usually wear coordinated costumes to work. One time I got to dress up as a unicorn. Sometimes I get to take naps on horse blankets. Another time an ice cream truck came to the office and I got a special dog ice cream! I enjoy moving my bed around the cubicle, and I’ve made so many great friends here, both human and canine!
This is super cute! <3
Very cute! This dog has a fun life!
Must be fun to work for an animal-centric employer!
My dogs, Rowdy and Ranger, also find it strange that their big brother is a horse. (And their little sister is a cat.) But, like Morgan, they seem just fine with it……and prefer not to dwell on the unexplainable things in life. They too would rather meditate on the finer points of rawhide……..
Morgan is adorable. I wish all dogs could be so lucky. Keep up the good work, Morgan.
Cuteness! His job is to be cute. 🙂 The humans are reaping health benefits from so many dogs present.
Oooh! Can we have more articles? I searched just for this because I think it’s awesome.
