Nothing says “spring time” like a SmartPak Tack Haul! This spring weather has me itching to stock up on some items I need at the barn. I was so excited about some of my favorite products (and of course some new things to try) that I just had to share with all of my fellow horse lovers!
My first go to product that I ordered was the Eqyss Premier Marigold Spray. Trust me when I say, you will be at the envy of the barn with this amazing liquid gold! Every time I whip this out of my tack box and spray down Stiletto, I can hear “Did someone just spray perfume?” and “Oh my gosh, something smells good!” Not only will this spray make your horse smell *amazing*, but it’s great for spraying on right before using a finishing brush to get that tough dander or dust off your horse’s coat. It helps to stop odors, and it keeps your trusty steed’s coat shiny and smooth. Definitely worth the price!
I absolutely love grooming, and I’m always on the lookout for grooming products that make it more enjoyable for both me and my mare. When my fellow SmartPaker Rebekah mentioned how much she loved the Epona Flexible Glossy Groomer (Item #27886), I just had to try it! It’s super soft and flexible, and it’s perfect for the entire body. You can even use it on your horse’s legs and face (gently, of course) too! I could tell Stiletto enjoyed it when I was giving her an extra back massage – she approves, so I approve!
Next up is the Lucky Braids All-in-One Shampoo. If the reviews don’t give it away as to how great this product is, just wait until you try it! At my parents’ farm, we have a friend who keeps her Gypsy Vanner there, and she has always sworn by this shampoo! It’s perfect for manes and tails, it creates a clean and healthy coat, and it helps to treat and prevent skin problems. The best part? You can use it on dogs too! I’m excited to use this – especially after a hot day on a trail ride – I can just wash Stiletto and my canine trail pal Ruby down with the same shampoo.
Spring time in Ohio means that flies are on their way. I’m always last minute when it comes to stocking up on essentials, but this year I was prepared, and I ordered a bottle of my favorite fly spray OutSmart well before fly season arrives! Poor Stiletto gets attacked by any pesky bug – she must be extra sweet (plus her coat is black), because flies LOVE her. I’ve always had success with OutSmart. I feel good knowing that I’m using a fly spray that is plant-based. Is it just me, or does anyone else cringe when they read the chemicals that are on a fly spray bottle? OutSmart is free from permethrin, pyrethroids, pyrethrins, and DEET, so you can even use it on yourself. I will spray down Stiletto, and then give myself a couple of good sprays, before hitting the trail. I love that it protects her (and me) from those nasty bugs!
Last but not least, I had to stock up on some SmartCookies (Item #24038)! I hate to admit it, but sometimes I can be a bad horse mom because I’m so obsessed with ordering my big purchases, that I forget about the little things – like buying my horse her favorite treats! Stiletto adores the banana bread flavor. To e honest, so do I! I love the smell – it smells so delicious it makes me wish that I could eat them too! Stiletto is an easy keeper, so I love that there is no sugar added, so her little extra treat is guilt free. It’s perfect!
