The annual “Best Weekend All Year” takes place on the last weekend of April in Lexington, Kentucky. It is also known as the Land Rover Kentucky Three Day Event, where there is so much fun and excitement both in and out of the ring.
My first Land Rover experience was last year, and I was so excited when I found out I would be going again this year!
The first three days we were in Kentucky we were setting up out booth. We had hundreds of Piper Breeches to fold, a beautiful color scheme saddle pads and sun shirts to hang as well as a large variety of other Private Label and Third Party tack, equipment, and apparel to get on the floor. The hard-working group of SmartPakers that attended this show and I were able to get the entire booth set up by Wednesday afternoon, which gave us plenty of time to watch the vet-check jog that takes place before the show starts, which is always exciting!
Despite the random bouts of rain and wind throughout the weekend, we had a blast interacting with and helping all of our customers that came to our booth. On top of the fun conversations and supplement consults we had in our booth, SmartPak also had a few other fun events planned for the weekend.
Early Saturday morning, hundreds of people lined up outside our booth (in the rain!!) to get their exclusive Course-Walk tee shirts for the course walk event we held later that afternoon with Team SmartPak rider, Boyd Martin.
We had a few extra SmartPaker hands on deck this day to help with these exciting events, including SmartPak’s Marketing Director of Business Development, Lissa Hines, SmartPak’s CEO, Fraser Cameron and SmartPak’s CMO, Jamie Loehr. From helping fold Pipers, encouraging those who walked by to sign up for our raffles and answering customer questions, to helping restock the floor, it was a blast having them at our booth. It’s always a great feeling knowing that you have a strong team behind you at work!
Luckily, the weather cleared right up for the course walk and it was a huge success. The fun continued after the course walk when we raffled off a Charles Owen My PS Helmet as well as an exclusive SmartPak Course Walk Yeti Cooler, it was a blast seeing the winner’s reactions!
On the last day of the show, we had a very exciting, last minute “Ask The Farrier” session with SmartPak’s Hoof Health Consultant and one of the main Farriers at the event, Danvers Child. From questions about white line, thrush, hoof moisture control to talk about our new supplement SmartHoof Ultimate, Danvers covered a variety of interesting hoof topics and we were so grateful that he took the time to come talk in our booth!
A few hours after Danvers’ talk, the final event of Land Rover Kentucky Three Day Event, show jumping, had ended, and what had been a consistently busy weekend slowly started to quiet down as everyone started to leave the Kentucky Horse Park and vendors started packing up their gear. I couldn’t believe how quickly the week went by and am already looking forward to the fun events and conversations with customers at Land Rover Kentucky 3 Day Event in 2020!
