I’ve been riding since I was big enough to fit into a saddle! My parents raised horses as a hobby so I grew up on a horse farm and watched them train many horses. Being able to grow up with horses has given me so many experiences I never would have had without them. I’ve experienced the miracle of life, the trying times of losing one of your closest horses, and the struggles of healing hurt horses, not to mention the incredible friends I’ve made along the way.
Veto, or Line Item Veto as he’s known on the show circuit, is truly my once in a lifetime horse. We purchased him as a muddy, lively, unstarted two-year-old. Our horse trainer broke him to ride and within just a few months, we were heading to the World Grand Championship show. That first year, he placed third in his two-year-old division. The next year we went back and won his three-year-old class world championship, the novice western world championship, and the novice western world grand championship. We knew that Veto was special, and these titles just affirmed his talent. We headed back again in the following years, and by the time he went for the last time, he was a six-time world champion and a four-time world grand champion. He was one of the only horses to win his division three times in a row in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
When we first purchased Veto, the trainer we were working with at the time recommended SmartPak products for him. We’ve used SmartPak ever since!
